Privacy Policy for Routine Tracker

1. Overview

Routine Tracker is designed to help you build and track habits, streaks, and notes entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Routine Tracker is built with a strong privacy-first approach:

• No accounts: You do not need to sign up, and we do not collect your email, name, or password.
• No cloud storage: Your habits, streaks, notes, and settings are never uploaded to any server or cloud service.
• No remote tracking: We do not use telemetry SDKs, analytics, or behavioral profiling services that send your usage data off your device.

All core app data stays exclusively on your phone.

3. On‑Device Data Storage

All personal data you create in the app (habits, streaks, notes, settings) is stored locally in a private SQLite database on your device:

• Database file: routine_tracker.db (stored in the app’s private internal storage).
• JSON backup: When you create a backup, the JSON file is saved locally on your device. You choose where to store or share it; we do not access or transmit this file.

No routine, habit, or note data leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share a backup file yourself.

4. Device Permissions

Routine Tracker requests only the permissions needed for core functionality:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to show habit reminders and other app notifications.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Used to schedule precise alarm times for your habit reminders.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Used to reschedule your alarms automatically after your device restarts.
• USE_BIOMETRIC: Used to unlock the app via your device’s biometric hardware (fingerprint/face) and the Android KeyStore. No biometric data is stored or processed by us; we only use the system’s secure authentication result.

You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Routine Tracker uses Google AdMob to show voluntary, rewarded ads. These ads allow you to unlock Pro features such as:

• JSON backup export
• PDF reports

When ads are shown, Google AdMob may process certain technical information, such as:

• Non-personal device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
• Basic device and app information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version)
• Ad interaction data (e.g., impressions, clicks) for delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention

This processing is done by Google in accordance with Google’s policies and the Google Play Developer Policies. AdMob does not receive your habits, streaks, notes, or any other personal content you enter into the app.

6. Data Security

Because all your habit and note data is stored locally on your device:

• Other apps cannot directly access Routine Tracker’s private database.
• Data is protected by your device’s lock screen and OS-level security.
• We do not operate servers that store or process your routine data.

We still recommend using a screen lock and keeping your device secure.

7. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• In‑app deletion: You can delete all local data at any time via Settings → Delete All Local Data. This removes your habits, streaks, notes, and settings from the app’s database.
• Uninstalling the app: Removing Routine Tracker from your device also deletes its local database and stored data.
• Backups: Any JSON or PDF files you exported remain on your device or in the location you saved them; you can delete them manually like any other file.

We do not retain any copy of your data on our side, as we do not operate backend servers for this app.

8. Children’s Privacy

Routine Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on our website with a new “Effective date.” We encourage you to review this page periodically.
